Position Overview

Faircape is seeking a strategically minded, commercially astute Group Financial Manager to lead the finance function across the Group.

This executive role is ideal for a CA(SA) or equivalent, comfortable bridging strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational management, and contributing to the Group’s executive share participation scheme.

You will oversee financial management, accounting, reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and system optimisation while leading a team of 30 finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and provide direction to finance and accounting teams
  • Ensure robust financial systems, internal controls, and compliance processes
  • Present monthly financial reports to Directors and Committees
  • Coordinate and oversee external audits
  • Review annual financial statements across all Group entities

Strategy & Commercial Oversight

  • Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and executive team
  • Align financial strategy with long-term Group objectives
  • Drive improvements in management reporting, processes, and efficiency
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements
  • Support long-term planning and performance optimisation

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis across all entities
  • Ensure timely, accurate management accounts and financial reporting
  • Monitor actual spend against budgets and drive accountability
  • Optimise workflows and financial reporting structures
  • Lead the finance team to ensure compliance and operational excellence

Minimum Requirements

  • CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Senior-level leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Proven ability in strategic financial planning and operational execution
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, and compliance
  • Experience contributing to executive-level decision-making
  • Clear credit, criminal, and health records
  • Positive, written professional references

Additional Advantageous Qualifications:

  • CIMA, MBA, Postgraduate Diploma in Tax, Auditing, or Financial Management

Working Hours & Compensation

  • Normal working hours: Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00 with 45-minute lunch
  • Flexi-time allowed between 06:30–18:30 (manager-approved)
  • Above-market related salary aligned to experience and impact
