About the Role
We are seeking a User Support Administrator to oversee the effective operation, support, and maintenance of business applications and processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of user administration, IT support, and compliance standards while ensuring seamless service delivery and business process efficiency.
This role requires an individual with excellent problem-solving skills, stakeholder engagement abilities, and a proactive approach to IT support and user administration. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with audit controls, organisational policies, and best practices while driving continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations – Support & Maintenance
- Provide user administration support and manage business applications efficiently.
- Monitor and enforce the use of the service desk for incident management and service requests.
- Identify and escalate Priority 1 (P1) incidents for immediate resolution.
- Troubleshoot IT-related issues to minimise service interruptions.
- Support retail systems, including printers, user access, and cash-ups.
IT Operations – Enhancement & Improvement
- Assist in the deployment, enhancement, and optimisation of business applications.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business processes.
- Ensure compliance with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) policies.
- Provide user training and system documentation for new or updated applications.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, audit controls, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and enforce access controls and segregation of duties to mitigate security risks.
- Oversee software licence management, ensuring compliance and reporting discrepancies.
- Support audit processes and facilitate timely resolution of audit actions.
Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with IT teams and business units to ensure seamless support.
- Plan and manage team leave schedules to maintain service continuity.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to enhance team performance.
- Support team members during absences and facilitate cross-skilling initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR 5 years’ experience in an agricultural support/customer-facing IT environment.
- 5 years’ experience in an agricultural-related support environment.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of audit principles, IT compliance, and governance.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience with business application functionality, user access management, and system integration.
- Proficiency in service desk systems, incident management, and troubleshooting retail systems.
- Understanding of data security, access control, and risk mitigation.
- Knowledge of change management processes and best practices in SDLC.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
