Job Purpose
This role is based in the Discovery Connect Sales call center, reporting to the Sales Team Leader. The Life Telesales Consultant will be responsible for generating sales by promoting and selling Discovery Life products via inbound and outbound calls. This involves managing various lead types and converting inquiries into successful sales.
Key Purpose
The key objective is to achieve targets that will grow Discovery Life by building the brand and ensuring clients engage with our range of products and services. The role is designed to promote healthier living, helping clients access the solutions they need to protect their future.
Key Outputs
The successful individual will be required to perform, but not limited to, the following key outputs:
- Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet monthly sales and activation targets set by the business.
- Accurate Data Capture: Enter all client application information into the system with accuracy.
- Product Recommendations: Ensure that the appropriate products are sold to clients based on their profiles.
- Meet Productivity Requirements: Adhere to required performance metrics.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all quality standards and legal requirements.
- Complete Assessments: Successfully complete all required assessments and ongoing training.

- PC Literacy: Proficient in email, Word, Excel, and basic computer skills.
Qualification & Experience
Essential:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- 1-2 years’ sales experience, preferably in an outbound telesales environment.
- RE5 (Regulatory Exams) certification.
Advantageous:
- Discovery Life product knowledge.
- Tertiary qualification (e.g., Financial Planning or Information).
- NQF Level 5 or National Certificate in Banking.
- RE5 qualification (required for financial services).
