Job Overview
Pedros is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their Procurement team. This role involves managing the procurement process, negotiating with vendors, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring that purchasing activities align with the company’s cost, time, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all procurement activities in line with company policies and cost/time/quality standards
- Support vendors in preparing technical/commercial proposals, ensuring confidentiality
- Negotiate and persuade to reduce costs and improve business operations
- Forecast and ensure stock coverage across all distribution centers (DCs)
- Maintain databases such as NDA’s, SANHA, allergens, and product specifications
- Analyze complaints and identify innovative solutions
- Ensure supplier splits are adhered to and fast-track claims
- Prepare and close off projects, reports, and allocations on time
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of experience in procurement (experience in chilled FMCG is highly advantageous)
- Degree or Diploma in a relevant field (Tertiary qualification in Purchasing or Supply Chain preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially strong Excel skills
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure
- Commercial and financial awareness
