About the Learnership Programme

This is a 12-month structured learnership that provides both theoretical learning and hands-on work experience in the sales and marketing environment. Learners will be employed for the duration of the programme and will rotate through different departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of the commercial landscape.

Upon successful completion, learners will obtain a National Certificate in Marketing (NQF Level 4) – a qualification that opens doors in sales, retail, and FMCG industries across the country.


Key Purpose of the Programme

The main goal of the learnership is to:

  • Equip learners with skills to grow sales volume and market presence.

  • Develop an understanding of the order-taking and merchandising processes.

  • Teach learners how to build relationships with direct and indirect customers.

  • Provide exposure to customer care, communication, and marketing principles.


What You Will Learn

During the course of this learnership, candidates will gain exposure to the following core areas:

Sales & Commercial Operations

  • Understand sales strategies and market segmentation

  • Participate in territory planning and field visits

  • Learn how to manage orders and customer needs effectively

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong working relationships with clients and customers

  • Learn how to manage customer expectations and respond to queries

Marketing Fundamentals

  • Understand branding, product placement, and promotional strategies

  • Learn the basics of marketing campaigns, retail analysis, and competitor tracking

Merchandising and Visual Standards

  • Get hands-on experience implementing merchandising guidelines in-store

  • Monitor shelf space, product availability, and promotional displays

Essential Workplace Skills

  • Communication and presentation skills

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Time management and organisation

  • Adaptability and professional conduct


Who Should Apply?

We are looking for young, vibrant, and driven individuals who are passionate about starting a career in sales and marketing. If you are unemployed and meet the following criteria, this opportunity is for you:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate

    • Minimum of 40% in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy

    • At least 40% in two official South African languages

  • A post-matric qualification (diploma/degree) is advantageous

  • A valid Driver’s License will be a strong advantage

  • Must be currently unemployed

  • Must not have previously completed a similar learnership or qualification

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • Must be an Employment Equity candidate

  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35

  • Willingness to commit to a full 12-month learnership programme
