Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will involve a range of tasks designed to keep our checkout area running smoothly and efficiently.
Customer Transactions

Operate an electronic point-of-sale (POS) system with an attached scale to process purchases accurately.

Ring up all products efficiently and ensure customers receive the correct change.

Handle various payment methods, including cash, debit cards, and credit cards, while maintaining a balanced cash drawer during each shift.
Customer Service Excellence

Provide each shopper with exceptional and friendly service, greeting them warmly and answering product-related questions.

Resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Maintain a positive and professional attitude, especially during busy trading hours.
Product & Promotion Awareness

Develop solid knowledge of products on sale as well as product codes for quick and accurate scanning.

Stay informed about current promotions and advertisements to highlight savings opportunities to customers.
Checkout Area Maintenance

Keep the till area clean, organized, and hygienic throughout each shift.

Replace receipt paper promptly and ensure all POS supplies are stocked.

Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
Communication & Teamwork

Work closely with the Till Supervisor and other team members to meet daily operational goals.

Report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies immediately.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Cashier – Sunnydale position, you must meet the following criteria:

Education: Matric (Grade 12)

Experience: Previous experience as a Cashier in a retail environment.

Location: Must live within 25 km of Sunnydale, Western Cape.

Compliance: Clear criminal record.
Preferred Attributes
While not mandatory, the following will enhance your application:

South African citizenship.

Previous experience as a Sales Assistant or similar retail role.

Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans.

Candidates between 18 and 40 years of age.
Work Schedule
This role requires flexibility and reliability.
You will work 6 shifts per week, which include Sundays and Public Holidays, across both trading and non-trading hours.
Punctuality and a willingness to work varied hours are essential.
