About the Role

Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for two Semi-Skilled Electricians to join our technical team in Rustenburg. In this role, you will provide hands-on support in maintaining, repairing, and installing heat pump systems and associated electrical equipment. Your responsibilities will include reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and assisting with installations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance of Electrical Systems & Heat Pumps

  • Respond to requests for electrical system installations, repairs, and upgrades in line with scheduled maintenance plans.

  • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on heat pumps and electrical control systems.

  • Assist with planned maintenance tasks, ensuring minimum downtime and operational continuity.

  • Support installation work including trenching, conduit installation, chasing walls, cable pulling, and wiring.

  • Maintain a tidy and organized workshop, plantrooms, and substations.

  • Ensure tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) are prepared and used correctly.

  • Report progress, challenges, and repair requirements to supervisors and managers.

Electrical Compliance

  • Ensure proper storage and security of tools, parts, and electrical assets.

  • Follow safety standards and adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade practices, regulations, and tools.

  • Carry out tasks using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, knives, saws) and power tools (drills, conduit benders, multimeters, test meters).

  • Identify and escalate the need for critical stock items not held in inventory.

Governance & Standards

  • Perform all work in alignment with health, hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with Tsebo policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with internal teams to understand service requests and challenges.

  • Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and supervisors to ensure timely delivery of projects and repairs.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of heat pumps and electrical systems.

  • Ability to diagnose faults using a multimeter and electrical testing tools.

  • Skilled in installation tasks such as trenching, conduit fitting, and cable pulling.

  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.

  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple jobs per day.

  • Ability to work independently and follow planned workflows.

  • Physical stamina and attention to detail.

  • Clear communication and reporting skills to escalate issues effectively.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12.

  • N3 qualification in Electrical Studies – essential.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance and repair.

  • Experience with heat pump systems will be a strong advantage.

  • Proficiency with tools and electrical equipment, including multimeters.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to identify when major repairs are required.
