Position Overview

The Handyman will be responsible for maintaining, checking, and repairing campus facilities and furniture to ensure all infrastructure is fully functional, safe, and compliant with institutional standards. This role requires practical maintenance skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to support the campus operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly inspections of buildings and identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Observe, report, and resolve breakages, damages, or hazards on campus.
  • Assist with moving furniture, deliveries, and access control.
  • Ensure fire equipment and safety systems are functional and compliant.
  • Liaise with external service providers for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Maintain equipment such as whiteboards, TVs, projectors, and other campus infrastructure.
  • Generate and submit weekly supply replacement lists to the Principal.
  • Support the campus team during internal and external audits.
  • Aid staff and students where needed to ensure service excellence.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
  • 2+ years’ experience in maintenance or handyman work
  • Physically able to perform manual work
  • Driver’s license (Advantageous)
  • No outstanding fees to any educational facility
  • No criminal record
