Position Overview

The Supervisor: Foreman is responsible for managing workshop operations, leading technical teams, and ensuring that service and repair work meets manufacturer standards and customer expectations. This role requires a qualified technician with proven foreman experience and strong leadership capabilities within an automotive workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop qualified service technicians
  • Assist technicians in improving technical skills and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA regulations, hazardous waste disposal, and safety standards
  • Enforce manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
  • Ensure all technicians receive required manufacturer training
  • Conduct regular performance reviews in line with dealership guidelines
  • Allocate repair work fairly and efficiently among technicians
  • Provide technical support and guidance when required
  • Ensure accurate job costing and correct charge-outs
  • Monitor repair progress throughout the day
  • Maintain high-quality repairs and minimise comebacks through quality checks
  • Road test vehicles to verify workmanship and safety
  • Ensure all job cards and documentation are complete and correctly processed
  • Manage customer follow-ups and address complaints within 24 hours
  • Track department performance using productivity, efficiency, warranty, and forecast reports
  • Monitor technician productivity and payroll alignment
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety, and equipment standards
  • Manage special tools, inventory, and equipment maintenance
  • Recommend new tools and equipment where required
  • Stand in for service advisor or dispatcher when necessary
  • Attend management meetings and promote teamwork across departments
  • Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and a safe working environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Automotive Technician (Trade Test essential)
  • Proven Workshop Foreman experience
  • Renault dealership experience (advantageous)
  • Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic capability
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver’s license
