Position Overview
The New Business Development Manager (VR 55) role is a senior, results-driven position responsible for driving profitable B2B direct business growth in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute professional with a proven background in B2B sales, market expansion, and strategic account development within the industrial, mining, construction, or fleet sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a robust B2B sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and lead qualification
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts aligned with growth targets
- Conduct detailed market research, customer analysis, and opportunity assessments
- Identify and execute upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage tenders, RFPs, and RFQs
- Support the broader sales team in achieving revenue and growth objectives
- Monitor, analyse, and report on sales performance metrics and KPIs
- Ensure all sales activities remain within budgetary and compliance frameworks
- Manage customer complaints and resolve escalated issues professionally
- Uphold company policies, business ethics, and governance standards
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing with a strong focus on business development
- Proven experience in B2B sales environments, particularly within:
- Mining
- Industrial sectors
- Construction
- Fleet management
- Solid understanding of the petrochemical and energy industry
- Experience in B2B lubricants supply will be highly advantageous
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to provide data-driven recommendations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
