Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and skilled Videographer to join our Story Station team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling through video, a keen eye for detail, and the technical expertise to capture, edit, and deliver professional content for digital marketing campaigns.

This role combines camera operation, story development, and editing, with opportunities to work with AI-based video tools and emerging technologies. Some travel may be required for on-location shoots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with creative teams to produce high-quality video content for marketing clients
  • Operate cameras and equipment in studio and on location
  • Develop storylines and concepts for marketing campaigns
  • Edit video footage to meet brand and client specifications
  • Work with emerging technologies, including AI-assisted video creation
  • Handle a variety of content types including food, tourism, medical, financial, and corporate videos
  • Ensure digital workflow continuity and efficiency
  • Assist with basic still photography and editing where required
  • Travel for on-location shoots both locally and nationally

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in videography for documentary-style or digital marketing content
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Film, Media, or related field
  • Strong storytelling ability and passion for moving imagery
  • Proficiency with cameras, lighting, sound, and editing software
  • Ability to work fast and adapt to multiple gear setups
  • Knowledge of social media video formats (e.g., TikTok, Instagram)
  • Driver’s license and reliable transport
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with high-quality output

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AI video creation tools
  • Ability to capture high-quality content on a smartphone for social media
  • Basic still photography and editing skills
