Position Overview

The Academic Development Co-ordinator supports the Brand Head of Academics in delivering a future-focused academic strategy across Crawford International schools. The role involves monitoring and analysing educational data, standardising assessment and reading practices, coordinating professional development, and ensuring the implementation of curriculum policies.

This position emphasizes data-driven instruction, blended learning, and continuous academic improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Academic Monitoring

  • Collect, collate, and analyse academic data (ADvLEARN, MAP, SIMS, assessments, guided readers)
  • Advise the Brand Head of Academics and schools on key trends and next steps
  • Standardize and monitor assessment and reading programmes
  • Support Data Driven Instruction (DDI) initiatives

Learning Management Systems (LMS) & Blended Learning

  • Coordinate and track use of MS Teams, Toddle, and Crawford International online learning platforms
  • Monitor training, file structures, and resources uploaded by staff and students
  • Support blended learning implementation across all schools
  • Conduct staff training sessions where required

Program Tracking & Support

  • Track and support ADvTECH RDI & WESSA Framework implementation
  • Monitor the Luminosity Programme and coordinate support as needed
  • Share best practices across campuses

Academic Policies & Pedagogical Practices

  • Review, develop, and disseminate academic policies for Pre-primary and Preparatory schools
  • Ensure policies are implemented and embedded across all subjects
  • Support or host parent information sessions on pedagogical practices

Campus Engagement & Mentorship

  • Conduct regular campus visits to ensure policy and curriculum compliance
  • Mentor new deputy principals and support aftercare and teacher development
  • Organize workshops and training sessions for staff

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised Degree/Diploma or 4-year post-matric Teaching Qualification
  • Honours, Masters, or additional qualifications advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar academic development or teaching support role
  • Strong experience in curriculum implementation, teacher development, and academic administration
