Position Overview

The Educational Technologist plays a strategic role in integrating emerging technologies, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and AI-driven solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement. The role combines technology management, academic support, content development, and training to align educational technology with institutional objectives.

Key Responsibilities

LMS & AI Integration

  • Lead AI and ed-tech integration into LMS platforms to support adaptive and personalised learning
  • Ensure technology aligns with institutional academic goals
  • Represent the institution in LMS-related strategic decisions
  • Manage ethical and inclusive deployment of technology

Content Management & Development

  • Oversee LMS content provisioning, updates, and AI-driven adaptation based on student performance
  • Lead research and innovation in educational content development
  • Provide support and training to academic staff on integrating AI technologies into teaching

Monitoring & Analytics

  • Evaluate AI-enhanced LMS features to meet educational objectives
  • Use analytics and feedback to implement improvements for teaching effectiveness and student learning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including technology partners, faculty, and students, for continuous improvement

Research & Innovation

  • Stay current with trends in AI and educational technology
  • Contribute to research initiatives related to AI in education
  • Guide development of AI-driven educational tools and content

Qualifications & Experience

  • Honours Degree in Educational Technology or related qualification (minimum)
  • Master’s Degree in IT or Computer Science with a certificate in Educational Technology (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management or leadership in educational management
  • Strong foundation in AI applications in higher education, including adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring systems, and data analytics
  • At least 2 years’ experience in training lecturers in educational technology
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Blackboard, Sakai, or Moodle

Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in LMS management and educational technology integration
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to develop and manage educational content and guide content developers
  • Experience in skills development and training academic staff
  • Strong understanding of AI-enhanced teaching and learning
