Position Overview
The Teacher Intern – Boarding program is designed for aspiring educators who are currently completing their teaching qualifications. This fixed-term internship provides hands-on experience in teaching and boarding, while allowing interns to develop their classroom management, leadership, and student support skills under the guidance of experienced educators.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom teaching and boarding supervision
- Support teachers in lesson planning, instruction, and student assessment
- Act as a positive role model for students
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect in all interactions
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and boarding life programs
- Collaborate with teaching and boarding staff to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
- Apply innovation and initiative in solving challenges related to teaching and student welfare
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Registered for a relevant Teaching Degree
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Inspirational, knowledgeable, and caring attitude
- Self-motivated, organized, and innovative approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Clear criminal record and police clearance
- Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
