Position Overview

The Operations Manager – Toilet Hire Cape will oversee the full operational management of the toilet hire division in the Western Cape region. This role involves managing fleet operations, logistics coordination, staff supervision, and service delivery to ensure that portable sanitation services are delivered efficiently and professionally.

The successful candidate will lead operational teams, maintain equipment standards, manage logistics schedules, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while supporting business growth and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the toilet hire division in the Cape region
  • Ensure operational processes run efficiently and meet company service standards
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures

Fleet and Equipment Management

  • Manage and maintain the fleet of portable sanitation units
  • Ensure portable toilets are serviced, cleaned, and maintained regularly
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary
  • Track usage, maintenance schedules, and operational efficiency

Logistics and Distribution

  • Plan and coordinate delivery and collection schedules for portable sanitation units
  • Ensure timely service delivery to construction sites, events, and other client locations
  • Optimize routing and logistics to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs

Team Leadership and Staff Management

  • Supervise and manage a team of drivers and service technicians
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance management to operational staff
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on productivity and service excellence

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners
  • Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and support business growth

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Implement safety protocols and operational risk management procedures
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and report on key operational indicators such as revenue, costs, and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare regular operational reports for senior management
  • Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field is advantageous

Experience

  • Proven experience in operations management
  • Experience within the rental, logistics, construction, or facilities management industry is beneficial
  • Experience managing operational teams and service delivery processes
