The company is now seeking a Retail Specialist to join its dynamic team of #Unstoppables and contribute to driving sales growth, improving retail channel performance, and expanding its national customer base.
Position Overview
The Retail Specialist role focuses on supporting key retail partners through data-driven insights, performance analytics, and strategic channel management. The successful candidate will analyse sales performance, monitor channel growth opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams and retail partners to maximize revenue and improve customer acquisition.
This role plays a vital part in optimising retail channel performance, improving market share, and strengthening the effectiveness of Cell C’s consumer sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare detailed channel performance reports on sales, revenue, subscriber behaviour, and market trends
- Conduct data analysis to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, and declining areas
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly KPI performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse subscriber behaviour and product performance across retail channels
- Provide ad-hoc analytical reports for channel reviews, management reports, and business strategy meetings
- Use Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel to track channel performance and forecast trends
Retail Channel Support
- Track performance against annual key account plans for national retail partners
- Develop reporting tools that provide insights into KPI performance and sales targets
- Conduct gap analysis and competitive market assessments to support strategic decision-making
- Monitor inventory levels and sales rates across retail channels and develop corrective action plans
- Coordinate promotional campaigns, marketing activities, and point-of-sale initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships with retail partners, service providers, and internal stakeholders
Operations Management
- Resolve operational escalations related to data, reporting, or retail channel performance
- Track orders, invoices, and returns to ensure timely payments and operational efficiency
- Monitor execution of marketing campaigns to maximize sales and customer retention
- Manage stock levels and operational risk across the retail channel
- Ensure compliance with Cell C operational standards and regulatory requirements
Cost and Budget Management
- Support the planning and management of the sales and marketing budget
- Monitor campaign costs and calculate Return on Investment (ROI) for marketing promotions
- Manage promotional inventory forecasts and allocations
- Ensure accurate forecasting and budget control for retail accounts
Market Research
- Conduct national market research to support effective retail account planning
- Identify top-performing markets and analyse customer behaviour patterns
- Track customer acquisition trends and identify potential target segments
- Analyse competitor activity and market trends to improve channel strategy
- Provide insights to support product development and promotional campaigns
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence (BI), or Analytics
Experience
- 5–6 years analytical experience within the telecommunications industry
- Strong experience analysing subscriber behaviour, revenue performance, and retail channel analytics
- Minimum 4 years’ experience supporting retail telecom account management
- Proficiency in Power BI, Business Intelligence tools, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience supporting project management or analytical business projects
