Position Overview
The Silo Manager at VKB Group’s Reinet Grain Depot in Heilbron is responsible for the profitable and safe management of the silo operations. This role ensures efficient grain handling, inventory control, financial and administrative management, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage grain flow and storage conditions continuously
- Implement grain protection procedures, including fumigation
- Measure and monitor grain tube temperatures and report deviations
- Oversee inventory management, input trade duties, and silo operations according to VKB policies
- Manage financial and administrative duties related to depot operations
- Supervise infrastructure and general management of the depot
- Maintain excellent customer service standards
- Ensure compliance with all silo operating regulations and safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Completion of the New Manager’s Program or relevant qualification
- 3–5 years of proven management experience in the grain/agricultural sector
- All relevant grain grading and silo operating certifications
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Ability to add continuous value to operations and strategic goals
