About the Role
The Cashier at Oudtshoorn Midas plays an essential role in driving daily sales operations, managing branch funds, and delivering positive customer service to automotive retail and trade clients. Operating at the main payment counter, you will act as the final touchpoint for customers purchasing auto parts, accessories, and workshop equipment.

Key Responsibilities of a Cashier
Cash Receipting & Customer Interaction

Receive payments (cash, card, check) from retail and trade customers against automotive parts sold or services rendered.

Communicate politely with customers, answering basic payment, pricing, or transactional inquiries efficiently.

Collect and count payment tendered accurately, verifying amounts against invoices and checking security features on cash or checks.

Issue official company receipts reflecting correct amounts tendered and confirm recording details with the customer.

Cash Reconciliation & Float Management

Reconcile daily cash received against issued receipts by separating notes by denomination and executing structured count sequences.

Capture overnight check deposit details, print payment receipts, and record transactional information prior to processing.

Verify cash receipt schedules and deposit totals with the branch supervisor, identifying and rectifying any count deviations before bank submission.
Documentation, Filing & Recordkeeping

Maintain organized chronological files of duplicate receipts, deposit slips, and transaction schedules.
