As a Sales Assistant in the Plumbing Department at the Langebaan branch, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to local plumbers, builders, and residential homeowners. Key Performance Areas & Primary Responsibilities
1. Customer Care & Technical Sales Advice

Attend to walk-in customers and trade clients in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.

Analyze customer technical requirements and recommend the best plumbing products, tools, and accessories to solve their specific installation or repair issues.

Apply natural sales flair and basic in-house sales techniques to upsell complementary fittings, adhesives, and hardware supplies.
2. Stock Management & Inventory Control

Monitor plumbing stock levels on the floor and assist buyers with placing re-orders for fast-moving or special-request items.

Maintain administrative files, including the customer special orders book, quotation records, and forwarding sales invoices to administration timeously.

Conduct regular stock counts and participate actively in routine and perpetual store stocktakes to prevent inventory discrepancies.
3. Merchandising & Store Housekeeping

Execute entry-level visual merchandising standards to ensure all plumbing goods are neatly packed, logically organized, and visually appealing.

Verify that every plumbing item on display is correctly labeled and priced according to official system shelf-talkers.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe aisles, display units, and work areas in compliance with store housekeeping protocols.
Minimum Requirements – Sales Assistant (Plumbing)
Educational Qualifications & In-House Certificates

Education: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate OR 3 completed Intercept courses equating to 120 credits (Essential).

Certifications: Possession of 2 x Department Product Knowledge Certificates (or readiness to complete upon appointment).
