Role Overview
Cape Union Mart is looking for a Sales Assistant to join their Old Khaki store in Mooi Rivier, Potchefstroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the store’s appearance, driving sales, and ensuring stock loss controls are in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Exceed customer expectations by using customer selling techniques.
- Adhere to stock loss controls in-store.
- Consistently meet individual sales targets.
- Maximize sales by identifying opportunities to increase turnover.
- Maintain store cleanliness and visual merchandising standards to optimize sales.
- Create an inspiring environment for customers.
- Process all purchases and payments, including cash, cards, and vouchers.
- Ensure outgoing stock is scanned and paid for.
- Process loyalty cards, including those from partner organizations.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, offering helpful, courteous service.
- Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
- Address and resolve customer stock queries.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience: Up to 6 months of retail experience.
- Education: Matric or equivalent qualification.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills.

- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

Additional Information
