Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Waiter to join our dynamic team in Fourways. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing friendly, professional, and attentive service to our guests. You will ensure that every customer has a positive dining experience by taking orders efficiently, serving meals and beverages promptly, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere at all times.

Key Responsibilities

As a Waiter at TsAfrika Catering Solutions, your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Guest Service Excellence: Welcome guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and ensure all meals and beverages are served promptly and accurately.

  • Menu Knowledge: Provide accurate information about menu items, specials, and recommendations for food and drinks suitable for different occasions or dietary needs.

  • Presentation and Cleanliness: Monitor that all plates, cutlery, glassware, and serving items are clean, polished, and in excellent condition before and after service.

  • Dining Area Management: Ensure dining areas, tables, and serving stations are clean, tidy, and properly set up according to company standards.

  • Customer Assistance: Assist guests with special needs or requests in a respectful and understanding manner, following relevant hospitality guidelines.

  • Upselling: Promote special meals, beverages, or promotions to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.

  • Payment Processing: Handle customer payments accurately, whether by cash, debit, or credit card, ensuring receipts and change are issued correctly.

  • Table Setup and Maintenance: Oversee correct table arrangements, ensuring settings include appropriate glassware, cutlery, and décor for the occasion.

  • Complaint Handling: Address any guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to management when necessary.

  • Record Keeping: Ensure that billing and order documentation are completed correctly and submitted to the relevant department.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely service delivery.

  • Customer Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with customers, encouraging repeat visits and promoting brand loyalty.

  • Feedback and Improvement: Record and evaluate guest feedback to identify opportunities to improve the quality of food, service, and overall dining experience.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.


Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a waiter or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.

Advantageous:

  • Culinary or hospitality-related qualification.

  • Previous experience working in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or catering service.
