Fidelity Services Group is seeking a highly accomplished General Manager – Finance to join its Fidelity Security Services division at Head Office – Helderkuin, based in Roodepoort, Gauteng. This is a permanent, mid-to-senior level executive role suited to a seasoned finance professional with strong strategic, statutory, and operational finance leadership experience.

The position plays a critical role in overseeing and supporting finance functions at both operational and statutory levels, ensuring the integrity of planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and visibility of overall business performance across the Group.


About the Role

The General Manager – Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across the organisation, supporting the Divisional Chief Financial Officer and broader executive leadership. The role focuses on ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, performance management, and value creation while enabling the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives.

This role requires a highly analytical and commercially astute leader who can influence decision-making at executive and board level, manage complex financial structures, and ensure compliance with legislative, statutory, and regulatory frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy, Planning, and Performance

The successful candidate will support the Divisional CFO in developing organisational budgetary structures and financial strategies that drive stakeholder value and long-term success. This includes influencing and driving the achievement of agreed divisional financial targets and ensuring financial strategies are aligned with overall organisational goals.

The role requires participation in the formulation of organisational strategy, translating strategic plans into robust financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance monitoring frameworks adopted across the organisation.


Financial Reporting, Analysis, and Governance

The General Manager – Finance will consolidate, analyse, and report on financial performance, identifying corrective, preventative, and improvement initiatives to achieve financial targets. This includes ensuring accurate balance sheet structuring, overseeing IFRS compliance, and guiding the preparation of financial information for the Board of Directors and Audit Committee.

The role includes continuous optimisation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, as well as strengthening control frameworks to ensure accurate financial reporting and ongoing risk assessment.


Tax, BBBEE, and Regulatory Compliance

The position carries responsibility for developing and implementing the Group tax strategy, ensuring full compliance across all tax areas and providing tax support for corporate actions.

In addition, the role oversees the development and implementation of the Group BBBEE ownership strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving optimal BBBEE ratings in line with corporate objectives.


Treasury, Cash Flow, and Investment Management

The General Manager – Finance is responsible for group treasury operations, including day-to-day cash management, cash flow forecasting, electronic banking systems, and investment strategies. This includes managing long-term and short-term investments, cash and borrowing structures, and implementing robust treasury controls.

The role also involves financial modelling, managing transactional risks, and driving improvements in the management of cash and borrowings across the Group.


Capital Expenditure and Asset Management

The role includes oversight of Group fixed assets, including capital investment planning, maintenance, and disposal. The incumbent will consolidate and analyse Group Capex and ensure that asset strategies support operational efficiency and financial sustainability.


Procurement and Payables Oversight

The position supports the alignment of procurement strategies with business objectives, including sourcing strategies, supplier management, and capability planning. The role also oversees the end-to-end Payables function, including reconciliations, accruals, payment accuracy, and month-end closing activities.

Clear communication with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers is essential to ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.


Leadership, People Development, and Governance

The General Manager – Finance provides strong leadership by creating ownership for decisions and strategies through collaboration and empowerment. Responsibilities include workforce planning, performance management, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and fostering a culture aligned with Group values.

The role also involves driving Employment Equity initiatives, supporting the employee charter and code of ethics, and engaging with executive leadership and Exco members to support Group-wide objectives.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Honours Degree – CA (SA)

  • Professional body membership (CIMA / SAICA / SAIPA)

  • 5–8 years’ experience in financial management or a similar senior environment

  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office, with advanced Excel

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and IFRS

  • Proven expertise in planning, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Strong financial acumen and attention to detail

  • Valid driver’s license with own vehicle

  • Strong administration, interpersonal communication, and stakeholder liaison skills
