About the Role
The Qualified Petrol Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of petrol vehicles from various manufacturers. This is a hands-on technical role requiring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
The position is not limited to a single brand and requires broad mechanical competence across different vehicle makes and models.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics and Repairs
The successful candidate will perform accurate diagnostics, repairs, services, and inspections on petrol vehicles from multiple manufacturers, ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards.
Multi-Brand Technical Work
The role involves working on a variety of vehicle models rather than a single brand. Strong adaptability and experience across different manufacturers are essential.
Service Execution and Quality Control
All service and repair tasks must be completed according to manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, and quality control standards.
Administration and Communication
The mechanic will maintain neat and accurate work records and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients regarding work completed and any technical findings.
Safety and Professional Standards
Strict adherence to safety regulations, workshop rules, and professional conduct is required at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates applying for this role must meet the following requirements:

Red Seal Qualification – Petrol Mechanic (diesel-only qualification is not suitable)

Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience

3–5 years’ practical workshop experience in a similar environment

Proven ability to conduct diagnostics, repairs, services, and inspections independently

Experience working across multiple vehicle brands (essential)

Ability to speak Afrikaans

Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

Strong communication skills and professional work ethic

Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively
