Position Overview

The Creditors Clerk position is a permanent role within the Kazang Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate processing of supplier invoices, creditor reconciliations, payments, and agent commissions, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and finance policies.

This role reports directly to the Senior Financial Accountant and is ideal for an experienced creditors professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice & Payment Processing

  • Capture supplier invoices accurately and timeously on the accounting system
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and approval authority levels
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly creditor payments
  • Load daily payments onto the banking system and ensure correct beneficiary details
  • Prepare and distribute remittance advice and proof of payments

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Perform monthly creditors reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare month-end creditors reconciliations for review and sign-off
  • Review and maintain the creditors age analysis on a monthly basis
  • Prepare month-end reports for the Assistant Accountant

Supplier & Agent Management

  • Address and resolve supplier queries efficiently
  • Request missing invoices and supplier statements when required
  • Onboard and vet new suppliers and agents
  • Prepare and verify supporting documentation for supplier onboarding

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure invoices are authorised according to company approval matrix
  • Process credit notes and refunds accurately
  • Maintain audit-ready records and supporting documentation
  • Handle intercompany invoicing and reconciliations

Additional Duties

  • Prepare invoices for monthly agent commission
  • Process monthly agent commission payments
  • Add new beneficiaries securely to the banking system
  • Process pro-forma invoices for vendors

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – essential
  • Finance-related qualification – advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Creditors Clerk or Accounts Payable role
  • Proficiency in Sage Evolution or similar accounting software
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
