Position Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a professionally registered Civil Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) to join the Water Department of a reputable consulting engineering firm in Pretoria.

This role is ideal for a driven and technically strong professional who is passionate about water and sanitation engineering, infrastructure design, and project delivery within a consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Preparation of technical reports, drawings, designs, and specifications
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations and modelling for water engineering projects
  • Assist with contract administration and site supervision when required
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Support projects from concept design through to construction and completion

Minimum Requirements

  • BTech / BEng Tech in Civil Engineering
  • Professionally registered with ECSA as a Pr Tech Eng
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in the civil engineering water sector
  • Proven experience in:
    • Water and wastewater pipelines
    • Pump stations
    • Treatment works and bulk services
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering design software and MS Office
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
