Position Overview

An established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Professionally Registered Electrical Engineer (Pr.Eng) to join its MEP Engineering division in Cape Town. This senior technical role is suited to an experienced electrical engineer with strong design expertise and leadership capability within the building services environment.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for electrical design delivery, technical leadership, and client engagement across a range of large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and detailing of electrical building services systems
  • Deliver electrical designs for single and multi-unit residential developments
  • Manage electrical engineering services for hospitality, commercial, and retail projects
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers
  • Manage client relationships and ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and best engineering practices
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams within MEP environments
  • Contribute to project planning, execution, and quality assurance

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • BSc or BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience
  • Professionally registered as Pr.Eng with Engineering Council of South Africa
  • Extensive experience in building services electrical design
  • Strong knowledge of residential, hospitality, commercial, and retail projects
  • Proven ability to lead design projects and engineering teams
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Own reliable transport
