Position Overview

The Junior Internal Sales Manager supports the internal sales team in achieving sales targets, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The role is office-based and phone-focused, involving customer engagement, outbound sales, order processing, and support for external sales representatives.

This position is ideal for candidates with internal sales experience in agriculture or food processing, strong commercial acumen, and a results-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to consumers, customers, and internal departments
  • Execute phone-based selling, outbound calls, cold calls, and manage incoming enquiries
  • Support external sales representatives and walk-in customers
  • Monitor customer credit limits and manage invoicing accurately
  • Generate sales orders, purchase orders, and transfer orders between locations
  • Coordinate daily truck bookings and communication with transporters and clients
  • Monitor production plans and stock expiry to ensure accurate order fulfillment
  • Maintain pricelists, deal sheets, and promotional information for customers
  • Facilitate and support the Human Resources function within the sales department
  • Handle customer complaints, investigate issues, and process credit notes when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with the Sales and Marketing department policies, Consumer Protection Act, and ethical codes of conduct
  • Mentor and train employees to maintain standards, best practices, and processes

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / NQF4
  • Minimum 3 years’ internal sales experience
  • Relevant sales or marketing qualification or equivalent demonstratable experience
  • Thorough understanding of the full GFC product range
  • Proficient in GFC sales software and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends
