About the Role
As a Cashier for the new Pedros Belgravia store, you will be an integral part of a dynamic store launch team. You will handle front-counter customer interactions, operate the Point of Sale (POS) register, balance cash floats, and maintain high standards of order accuracy and counter hygiene.
Your goal is to maximize sales through proactive upselling, manage customer queues efficiently during peak meal times, and uphold Pedros’ reputation for exceptional service and quality.
Key Performance Areas & Primary Responsibilities
1. Customer Service & Order Processing

Welcome customers with a friendly attitude, take food orders accurately, and input selections into the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Provide clear information regarding menu offerings, promote daily specials, and suggestively upsell side orders, drinks, and desserts.

Manage customer queues effectively to ensure rapid order throughput during peak trading hours.

Resolve routine customer queries and minor service complaints professionally.
2. Cash Handling, Payments & Shift Balancing

Process cash, credit/debit card, and digital app payments accurately and responsibly.

Issue exact change, print transaction receipts, and process valid customer refunds or exchanges in line with company policy.

Maintain cash float integrity, perform cash-ups, balance register tills, and submit accurate end-of-shift cash reports.

Protect company assets, secure cash floats, and adhere to loss-prevention procedures.
3. Counter Maintenance & Store Administration

Operate POS terminal equipment and handle basic troubleshooting routines.

Maintain complete cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of front-counter registers, menu boards, and order pickup areas.

Collaborate with kitchen staff and shift supervisors to ensure fast, accurate order handovers.
Minimum Requirements – Cashier (Belgravia)
Educational Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Preferred).

Previous experience as a cashier, front-counter assistant, or retail till operator in a fast-food or retail environment (Preferred).

Demonstrated experience handling cash and operating electronic Point of Sale (POS) hardware.
