Position Overview

The Parts Sales Representative will support the dealership’s Parts Department by selling truck and commercial vehicle parts to workshop and retail customers.

Reporting to the Parts Manager, the successful candidate will focus on growing parts sales, supporting workshop operations, and building long-term relationships with transport industry customers.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of vehicle uptime in the transport sector and enjoys identifying sales opportunities while delivering exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities

Parts Sales & Customer Service

  • Sell truck and commercial vehicle parts to workshop and retail customers
  • Assist customers with accurate parts identification and pricing
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service

Sales Development

  • Identify and pursue new parts sales opportunities
  • Follow up on quotations and potential sales leads
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers

Administration & CRM

  • Maintain and update customer database and CRM records
  • Process parts orders, quotations, and invoicing accurately
  • Ensure proper documentation and administration of transactions

Workshop Support

  • Work closely with the workshop team to identify parts requirements
  • Conduct regular workshop walk-throughs to identify sales opportunities
  • Support operational efficiency through accurate parts supply

Inventory & Department Operations

  • Assist with stock control and stock counts
  • Support daily operations within the Parts Department
  • Ensure availability of parts required for efficient service delivery

Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this role must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in parts sales within the motor industry
  • Computer literacy
  • Clear criminal record

Advantageous Qualifications

The following experience will be beneficial:

  • Experience in the commercial vehicle or truck industry
  • Knowledge of diesel or truck components
  • Experience using Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Kerridge)
