Position Overview
ADvTECH is seeking an experienced Head of School for Pinnacle College Linden High School in Johannesburg. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving academic excellence, staff management, student success, and operational efficiency within the school.
You will play a key role in shaping the school’s culture, ensuring high performance, and maintaining compliance with education and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Implement and oversee academic policies and procedures
- Ensure effective timetabling and classroom allocation
- Monitor and improve academic performance across the school
- Lead academic and support staff to achieve school targets
Staff Management & HR Development
- Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development
- Implement succession planning and identify critical skills
- Support Employment Equity targets and talent development
- Work with HR partners on strategic staffing initiatives
School Operations & Strategy
- Manage daily school operations and resource allocation
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial planning
- Assist in compiling annual school budgets
- Ensure compliance with education policies and standards
Student Enrolment & Marketing
- Support student admissions and conduct interviews
- Drive enrolment targets through marketing initiatives
- Promote the school’s image through community engagement
- Strengthen word-of-mouth and stakeholder relationships
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
- Identify risks and implement safety measures
- Oversee exam registration and legislative compliance
- Ensure safety of students, staff, and visitors
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised Degree and/or 4-year professional Teaching Qualification
- Valid SACE registration
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience in a similar environment
- At least 3 years of management or leadership experience in education
