About the Forklift Driver Role
The Forklift Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of stock within the warehouse and sauce plant environment.
This role plays an important part in supporting smooth warehouse operations, stock accuracy, and timely product distribution while ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Forklift Operations
- Operate forklifts safely to move and transport stock
- Load and unload pallets and goods efficiently
- Stack inventory correctly within warehouse storage areas
- Transport materials between warehouse zones and loading bays
Warehouse & Stock Control
- Assist with stock picking and packing processes
- Support inventory control and warehouse organization
- Ensure stock is stored accurately and safely
- Help maintain efficient warehouse workflow
Safety & Equipment Checks
- Conduct daily pre-shift forklift inspections
- Report equipment faults or maintenance issues immediately
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Ensure aisles and loading areas remain clear and organized
Food Safety & Compliance
- Operate within a food-safe environment
- Follow GMP, hygiene, and allergen control procedures
- Adhere to company SOPs and quality assurance standards
- Maintain compliance with warehouse operational procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Valid forklift license and certification
- Minimum 2 years’ forklift driving experience
- Warehouse or distribution centre experience
- Knowledge of stock management and logistics operations
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
