Job Summary
Join our team as a Control Room Operator and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients. This position is ideal for vigilant and detail-oriented individuals who excel in high-pressure environments. The successful candidate will monitor security systems, manage alarms, coordinate emergency responses, and communicate effectively with on-site personnel. Your role is essential in protecting our clients through the use of advanced surveillance technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance Monitoring: Oversee live surveillance cameras and alarm systems across multiple locations.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms and incidents by initiating appropriate actions, including contacting emergency services.
- Communication: Maintain clear, concise communication with on-site security personnel, clients, and emergency services.
- Incident Logging: Accurately log all incidents, alarms, and activities in the control room.
- System Checks: Conduct regular checks to ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly.
- Incident Management: Follow standard operating procedures for managing and reporting incidents.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports to management on security incidents and system statuses.
- Procedural Maintenance: Assist with updating and maintaining control room procedures and protocols.
- Ongoing Training: Participate in continuous training to stay current with security practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications are a plus.
- PSIRA Registration: Must be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Experience: Proven experience as a Control Room Operator or in a similar security role.
- Skills:
- Strong observational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with security systems, CCTV, and alarm monitoring systems.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to security operations.
- Language: Proficiency in Afrikaans is required.
- Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring screens.
- Must be able to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Working Hours:
- Shifts: 06h00-18h00 and 18h00-06h00 (3-day day shift, 3-day night shift, 3 days off).
