Position Overview

The Group Financial Accountant (FN 40) is a permanent role within the Finance Department, responsible for group-level financial processing, reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective debtor and asset management, tax compliance, and intercompany accounting across the group.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing financial transactions and preparing management reports
  • Managing debtors, including invoicing, statements, and follow-ups
  • Preparing payments and distributing proof of payment
  • Managing the finance mailbox and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing monthly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations at month-end
  • Assisting with internal and external audits
  • Identifying and reporting financial discrepancies
  • Supporting group financial reporting and analysis
  • Recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
  • Overtime: Required during month-end, audits, and reporting deadlines
  • Benefits: Retirement annuity contribution of R500 per month after 1 year

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (Compulsory)
  • SAIPA or SAICA qualification – advantageous
  • 2–4 years relevant financial experience OR completed SAIPA/SAICA articles (Compulsory)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • MS Excel
    • Accounting software such as Pastel and Xero
