Pedros is recruiting an experienced Internal Auditor to join its growing operations team in Cape Town. This role focuses on evaluating financial and operational processes, ensuring compliance, identifying risks, and strengthening internal controls across stores, distribution centres, and operational sites.

About the Internal Auditor Role

The Internal Auditor will provide independent and objective evaluations of the Group’s financial and operational activities. The role includes conducting audits across stores and warehouses, assessing risks, improving compliance, and ensuring operational efficiency.

This position involves extensive travel across the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and other operational locations.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement audit programmes aligned with company SOPs
  • Plan and conduct audits across finance and operational departments
  • Update internal audit plans to strengthen financial and operational controls
  • Perform testing procedures to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Assess compliance with local and national laws and regulations
  • Identify operational and financial risks across business units
  • Evaluate policies, procedures, and operational controls
  • Recommend corrective actions and process improvements

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare detailed audit findings and reports
  • Analyse data to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends
  • Present recommendations to management and stakeholders
  • Monitor follow-up actions and implementation of controls

Stakeholder & Operational Support

  • Work closely with department heads and executive management
  • Support oversight of group-wide policies and processes
  • Conduct audits at stores, warehouses, and distribution centres
  • Ensure effective communication of audit outcomes and recommendations

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Internal Auditor
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight when required
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Experience with internal audit software and AI applications

Advantageous Skills & Experience

  • Retail or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) experience
  • POS system knowledge (GAAP, Micros, etc.)
  • Investigative and analytical skills
  • Experience auditing operational and warehouse environments
