Job Description

Supercare, a division of Empact Group, is seeking a skilled and competent Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the work of a cleaning team and ensuring that all tasks are performed to the highest standards.

Education and Experience

  • Qualifications: Matric or equivalent
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a cleaning environment
  • Competency: Fully competent in the operation of cleaning equipment and chemical usage
  • Customer Service: Solid customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Organizational, numerical, and administrative skills
  • Soft Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize team tasks, and communicate at all levels
  • Professionalism: Well-groomed, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform general physical activities and knowledge of cleaning
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and direct a cleaning team

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Team Management: Lead, instruct, and delegate tasks to a team of cleaners ensuring tasks are performed according to client requirements and company standards
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleaning equipment is well-maintained and safe to use
  • Training: Perform on-the-job training of new staff on safety, company work procedures, methodology, and operation of cleaning equipment
  • Stock Management: Manage and report stock requirements
  • Client Interaction: Respond to clients’ enquiries or specific requests
  • Problem Solving: Resolve problems and make decisions at the team operational level
  • Quality Control: Carry out cleaning spot checks and ensure client satisfaction by obtaining job card signatures
  • Documentation: Ensure completed timesheets and supporting documentation are handed to the relevant manager
