Job Description
The Floor Assistant at VKB Retail Reitz serves as a key link between the stockroom and the retail floor. You are responsible for the physical movement of agricultural merchandise, ensuring that shelves are consistently stocked and that heavy-duty cargo is loaded according to safety standards. This role requires a blend of physical stamina and technical knowledge regarding load planning and weight distribution to ensure the safety of our staff and the integrity of our products.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Inventory & Merchandising

Stock Movement: Draw merchandise from the stockroom accurately as requested by the sales team or management.

Pricing & Labeling: Responsible for marking merchandise correctly before bringing it onto the retail floor.

Shelf Packing: Organize and pack products onto shelves in a neat, professional manner that facilitates easy customer access.
2. Cargo & Load Management

Loading/Unloading Operations: Plan and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring goods are handled with care to prevent damage.

Safety Compliance: Ensure weight distribution and the securing of loads comply with national safety standards and company protocols.

Documentation: Inspect cargo against delivery documentation for accuracy before dispatch, reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately.
3. Warehouse & Logistics Coordination

Team Liaison: Coordinate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to ensure a smooth flow of goods.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all stock movements, loads, and reconciliations to support inventory audits.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this permanent role in Reitz, candidates must meet the following:

Education: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in transport, warehousing, or logistics operations. Experience in agricultural retail is a strong recommendation.

Physical Fitness: Physically fit and capable of managing heavy-duty tasks and manual labor.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of load planning, weight distribution, and safety regulations.

Availability: Required to work weekends and public holidays as per the duty roster.

Clearance: Must have a clear criminal record.
