Position Overview

The Electronic Engineer (EG 01) will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of electronic instrumentation and control systems used within industrial and mining environments.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate or entry-level electronic engineer to gain hands-on experience across new product development and continuous improvement of existing electronic systems, working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and PCB layouts for instrumentation and control products
  • Develop and support embedded systems and firmware for electronic devices
  • Build prototypes and perform functional, environmental, and safety testing
  • Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on electronic systems
  • Modify and improve existing designs based on test results and field feedback
  • Provide technical support to production teams and assist with manufacturing optimisation
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and user manuals
  • Ensure all designs comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards required in heavy industrial and mining environments
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff on ongoing projects
  • Assist with training and technical knowledge transfer when required

Systems, Software & Tools Used

  • PCB & Circuit Design: Altium Designer (preferred), KiCad, Proteus
  • Electronic simulation software
  • Embedded development environments
  • Electronic measurement and testing equipment

Minimum Requirements / Minimum Vereistes

  • BEng Degree in Electronic Engineering (Required)
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit design and PCB development
  • Interest or exposure to embedded systems and firmware development
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet engineering deadlines
  • High attention to detail and structured problem-solving ability
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to provide training or guidance when requested
