Pedros is seeking a qualified Employee Relations Consultant for a 6-month contract at its head office in Newlands East. This role focuses on employee relations, labour law compliance, disciplinary processes, and HR advisory support across the organisation.

The HR and Legal division plays a critical role in maintaining fair labour practices, employee wellbeing, and legal compliance across all branches.
About the Employee Relations Consultant Role
The Employee Relations Consultant provides specialised support in labour relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and HR policy compliance.
You will act as a key advisor to management and employees, ensuring all employee-related matters are handled fairly, legally, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Advisory
- Assist employees and management with HR/IR queries
- Advise on workplace conflict and dispute resolution
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
- Support fair and consistent disciplinary processes
Disciplinary & Grievance Management
- Investigate workplace issues and misconduct cases
- Chair disciplinary and grievance hearings
- Ensure procedural and substantive fairness in hearings
- Provide recommendations based on labour law principles
Compliance & Policy Development
- Assist in developing HR, IR, and labour relations policies
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company procedures
- Interpret and apply HR policies correctly across the business
- Contribute to HR handbooks and operational guidelines
CCMA & Labour Disputes
- Represent the company in CCMA-related matters
- Articulate company positions in labour disputes
- Support preparation for arbitration or conciliation processes
Employee Support & Guidance
- Counsel and support employees on workplace issues
- Improve employee morale through structured guidance
- Promote fair treatment and ethical workplace practices
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management (or related field)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR / IR / Employee Relations
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Experience with CCMA processes (advantageous)
- Understanding of POPIA, OHS, and compliance frameworks
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
