Role Purpose

The Junior Operations Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining operational systems across multiple Wacky’s stores in the Polokwane region.

This role focuses on:

  • Driving profitability and sales growth across stores
  • Ensuring operational excellence and brand compliance
  • Managing and developing store leadership teams
  • Enforcing SOPs, food safety standards, and service excellence
  • Supporting multi-store expansion and performance improvement

Key Responsibilities

Operational Performance & Profitability

  • Manage store operations across allocated Wacky’s branches
  • Drive turnover, customer growth, and gross profit targets
  • Control food costs, labour costs, and operational expenses
  • Improve service efficiency and operational KPIs

SOP, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs and operational standards
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene compliance across stores
  • Monitor audit results and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure brand consistency across all outlets

People Management & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop store managers and teams
  • Improve staff performance and reduce turnover
  • Oversee training, onboarding, and performance reviews
  • Build high-performance store teams

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Resolve complaints and implement service improvements
  • Improve ratings, feedback scores, and customer experience KPIs
  • Reinforce brand values and service culture

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports
  • Analyse KPIs, financial data, and operational trends
  • Communicate effectively with management and store teams
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales growth and customer count increase
  • EBITDA and gross profit margins
  • Food safety and brand audit scores
  • Service speed and operational efficiency
  • Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution
  • Staff retention and performance metrics

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification in Business, Operations, or Management (advantageous)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in multi-store QSR operations
  • Experience in fried chicken or fast-food restaurant environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP / Micros systems
  • Strong financial and operational acumen
  • Valid driver’s licence (own vehicle preferred)
  • Willingness to travel within the region
