Stipend: R5,000.00 per month
About the EPWP Programme
The Joburg Market invites unemployed South African citizens residing in the City of Johannesburg Municipality to apply for the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) for 2025. This initiative provides valuable work experience, with preference given to youth, women, and differently-abled individuals.
Note: Candidates who have previously participated in an EPWP programme will not be considered.
Available Positions & Minimum Qualifications
- General Worker: Grade 10
- General Office Cleaners: Grade 10
- Platform Wardens (Security): Grade 12
- Maintenance Assistants: Grade 10
- Consignment Gate Controllers: Grade 12
- Marketing Assistants: Grade 12
- HR Assistants: Grade 12
- Food Bank Assistants: Grade 10
- Property Assistants: Grade 12
Key Responsibilities
General Worker & Office Cleaners:
- Cleaning platforms, compactors, rocker bins, floors, and JM surfaces.
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and maintaining cleanliness of offices, kitchens, floors, and bathrooms.
- Emptying waste bins and replenishing supplies in line with health and safety standards.
Platform Wardens (Security):
- Conduct security patrols within the precinct.
- Control access and exit for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Enforce Joburg Market By-Laws.
Maintenance Assistants:
- Unblock toilets, sewer lines, taps, and pipes.
- Install lights, repair plugs, locks, and perform general maintenance tasks.
Consignment Gate Controllers:
- Verify delivery notes against consignments.
- Direct trucks and manage access points.
Marketing Assistants:
- Perform marketing administrative tasks.
- Display and store marketing branding equipment.
HR Assistants:
- Handle HR administrative tasks, including filing documents.
Food Bank Assistants:
- Assist with packaging fresh produce.
Property Assistants:
- Perform various property-related functions.
