Job Description
Ampath is seeking a Learner Lab Assistant to join the Histology department in East London. This role focuses on preparing and analyzing specimens in the laboratory while ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Maintenance:
- Clean and maintain the laboratory to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Client Relations:
- Maintain good client relations, promoting the image of Ampath.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Perform administrative duties to ensure the laboratory’s effective systems.
- Special Procedures:
- Carry out special laboratory procedures to ensure timely specimen processing and results.
- Specimen Processing:
- Receive and process specimens for efficient and effective specimen flow in the laboratory.
Requirements
- Education:
- Grade 12 certificate with English, Biology (Life Sciences), and Mathematics.
- HPCSA Registration:
- Must be registered with the HPCSA in the relevant field.
- Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience in a pathology laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with the Meditech system and Ampath’s Safety, Health, and Environment management policy.
