This position is crucial to ensuring the accurate handling, storage, and distribution of critical aircraft components and materials — playing a direct role in maintaining FlySafair’s high safety and service standards.


Position Overview

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will support the inventory control and movement of goods within the warehouse. Your responsibility will span the full warehouse process from receiving to storage, handling, and dispatching, including ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards in line with aviation industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Move inventory and materials efficiently across facilities.

  • Sort, organise, label, and store inventory accurately in designated locations.

  • Package items correctly and prepare them for dispatch.

  • Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory records in collaboration with the Inventory Clerk.

  • Monitor inventory control measures and uphold quality standards for internal and external audits.

  • Handle sensitive aircraft components with care to avoid damage.

  • Maintain and manage all tools and warehouse equipment in compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

  • Conduct and participate in routine cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse.

  • Report any damaged or missing inventory to supervisors promptly.

  • Ensure warehouse logs, documentation, and inventory updates are accurate and complete.

  • Follow safety protocols and quality service standards without compromise.

  • Support 24-hour warehouse operations with flexibility for shift work and overtime when required.


Minimum Job Requirements

To qualify for the Warehouse Assistant role at FlySafair, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (Essential).

  • 1–2 years’ administrative or warehouse experience in a medium-sized organisation (Essential).

  • Ability to work 24-hour shifts and willingness to work overtime (Essential).

  • Certification in Warehouse Training (Advantageous).

  • Dangerous Goods and Aircraft Spares Packing certifications (Advantageous).

  • Familiarity with ERP warehouse systems and warehousing standards (Advantageous).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
